Calc Hypochlorite Hth 68% Gran 25kg Tubs
Calcium hypochlorite, with the chemical formula Ca(OCl)2, is a powerful inorganic compound widely used in water treatment and bleaching applications. This white solid, often appearing yellow in commercial forms, is the primary active ingredient in products known as bleaching powder, chlorine powder, or chlorinated lime. Compared to sodium hypochlorite (liquid bleach), calcium hypochlorite boasts greater stability and a higher concentration of available chlorine. This makes it particularly effective for various industrial and household uses. When exposed to moist air, calcium hypochlorite slowly decomposes, releasing a strong chlorine odor. Despite this gradual breakdown, it remains a preferred choice for many applications due to its effectiveness and relatively long shelf life.
