The Environment & Us - Pattersons UK

Pattersons may have been around since 1889 but are aiming to be trading for hundreds of years more by promoting a sustainable business through our environmental policies and procedures. There are many ways we can work together to ensure our businesses have a minimal impact on the environment.

1. Order Online

By using our website we can reduce paper usage.

2. Electronic Documents

Instead of posting paper statements why not subscribe to receiving electronic documents? You will receive our invoices and statements via email and reduce wastage as well as CO2 emissions. Not only is this an environmentally friendly option but it allows you to store and manage your paper work more efficiently. To subscribe please send an email to accounts.dept@pattersons.co.uk stating your name, company name, and account number and we will do the rest. Alternatively, please discuss with your Account Manager or a member of the sales team.

3. Recieve Our Catalogues Electronically

We are able to email you any of our catalogues or by visiting our website at www.pattersons.co.uk you may download them.

4. We Are Stocking Environmentally Friendly Products

Where possible we have introduced ranges that have minimal environmental impact as determined by the W.E.I.R. scheme. We are continually looking to ensure our products are ethically sourced and have as little impact on the environment as possible.

5. Our In-House systems Have Been Changing

Not only do we ensure that our office wastage is recycled but we are also strongly committed to ensuring our warehouse is as environmentally friendly as possible. We have invested in compactors and already have seen a significant reduction in our waste as well as saving packaging at the fulfilment stage. We are saving energy in our offices and have taken a number of measures to ensure electricity use is minimised.

6. Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

We make large orders with our suppliers to reduce our carbon foot print as well as sourcing British products.

7. Redundant Stock

For years we have regularly ensured that our redundant stock does not end up in a landfill but is given to various charities who will benefit. Concentrated mainly in the Bristol region, these charities help the aged, the homeless, and the youth of Bristol. These are just a few of the initiatives we have introduced. Pattersons is committed to reducing our impact on the environment and we continually review our policies to ensure constant improvement.
