Chantry Knife Sharpener

The Chantry Knife Sharpener from Taylors Eye Witness will sharpen any chefs knife or scalloped edged knife safely and efficiently without wearing away the blade. At the heart of the machine is two small butchers\' steels, the same hardness, temper and cut as a professional steel. The steels on this knife sharpener are pre-set at the optimum edge angle and are spring loaded so as not to damage the knife. To use this professional knife sharpener, simply run any knife blade between the steels four or five times and your knife is sharpened. To keep this knife sharpener clean, just wipe the knife blade first then draw the knife between the steels as if slicing bread, only using enough pressure to engage the steels. Use this knife sharpener frequently to keep a nice sharp edge on your chef knives. This professional knife sharpener is steeped in history; it was originally developed for, and still used in, the food processing industry. The Chantry Classic was designed by Robert Welch in the 1970s and is on permanent display in the New York Museum of Modern Art as an example of a 1970s classic.
