So, let’s get started!
Eco Cleaning The Toilet
When it comes to the cleaning the toilet, most people think bleach is a must have product to kill any nasty germs and stains but you actually couldn’t be more wrong. Bleach only does what it says on the tin, bleaches things (as in changing the colour of it) but it doesn’t actually clean anything. In fact, it’s about time to ditch the bleach entirely because it’s not good for anything – Cleaning, the environment or your health.
Ecover’s pine fresh toilet cleaner will do the job perfectly offering to clean, de-calcify and freshen your loo whilst still being entirely friendly to the earth and your health. Don’t forget the bottle is 100% plant-astic & 100% recyclable and with Ecover refill stations all over the country, you can reduce your packaging too!
Eco Cleaning The Shower & Bath
First up, let’s start with the taps. Water stains and mildew seem to love it in these awkward areas, but it’s probably made even worse if you’re using the wrong type of cleaner in this area. For shiny stainless steel taps and shower heads, use the Delphis Eco Glass & Stainless Steel Cleaner which could also be used on your shower doors too.
To kill any mildew or mould, mix combine vegetable oil with salt to create a paste and apply to the area of concern before. leaving for 10 mins and wiping clean. As for your bath and tiles, simply rinse every day with water and a microfbire cloth and for a full clean, try the Delphis Eco or Ecover washroom cleaners.
Eco Cleaning The Drains
When it comes to your drains, instead of buying a plant-based cleaner, we instead recommend making your owns from things you likely have in your cupboard at home which can be fantastic for fixing blocked draining and ridding bad smells.
Try adding 1 cup of baking soda to 1 cup of white vinegar and pouring it down the drain. Leave it for 15 minutes and then repeat if required!
Eco Cleaning The Mirror
Ecover Window & Glass Cleaner is amazing at cleaning mirrors, but you can make your own mirror cleaner too! 1 cup of water and 1 cup of white vinegar will definitely do the trick, especially when paired with an old newspaper for wiping!
Eco Cleaning The Floor
The perfect combination for cleaning the bathroom tiles is to mix ½ a cup of baking soda into a bucket or warm water and simply mop as you normally would. As the space is quite small, you could use a microfibre cloth. Don’t forget, we do have eco-friendly mops too which don’t require any chemicals at all or reduce the amount of single use plastic waste!
Eco Cleaning Your Towels
Don’t forget your towels. Doing the laundry the eco-friendly way is actually super easy. We love the Ecover liquid bio laundry powder and laundry tablets which leave our clothes (and towels) feeling, looking and smelling amazing. They’ll even work at low temperatures which is much better for the environment too!
Eco Friendly Toilet Roll
Don’t forget to stock your bathroom with only the highest quality yet eco-friendly toilet roll you possibly can. If you want to go all out Eco, than kraft toilet paper which is unbleached is the most eco-friendly, however you could also choose recycled toilet rolls which and coreless toilet rolls for reduced waste.
Remember, every little helps so whether you’re switching up one thing or ten, we think you’re doing great! Together let’s make the world a greener a place!
